Never say thank you too often

As we close out the month of February I am reminded of the enormous amount of love and dedication that has been invested in House of Refuge over the years. I am also reminded of a lesson from my childhood that I cannot genuinely say thank you too often.

So I reach out to you today to say –

To our residents, thank you for trusting us with your stories and dreams. Thank you for allowing us into your lives as we worked side-by-side to resolve barriers and get your lives back on track. We are very proud of you and all the hard work you invested in improving your life. We are also thankful for all you have taught us through the years. We will use those life experiences to pass onto the next generation of residents.

To our donors, a program is simply a dream until adequate operating funds can be obtained. Thank you for believing in House of Refuge and the families we serve. Thank you for giving your support so that families in need can receive the necessary assistance to address the overwhelming barriers in their lives once and for all. My promise to you is to be a good steward of your gifts and touch as many lives as possible.

To our volunteers, we COULD NOT do this without you. The gift of your time and talents are never taken for granted. There are a lot of great service provider agencies in the valley, but, you decided to volunteer at House of Refuge. For all the sweat and tears you have poured into our residents and program- we thank you. You truly make such a massive difference in our families and in our community. Although I may not get to see you regularly I want you to know I talk about you all the time and am so proud to be associated with each and every one of you.

In our first 20 years we touched the lives of over 7,000 homeless individuals. So, here’s to working together the next 20 years and helping the next 7,000 individuals into a brighter future. I look forward to serving together.

Sincerely, Nancy Marion
