As we begin a hope filled 2018 may I once again reach out to you and say thank you. Thank you for your kindness and generosity that assist the homeless families we serve at House of Refuge.
American Poet Maya Angelou once stated, “I’m convinced of this: Good done anywhere is good done everywhere…. As long as you’re breathing, it’s never to late to do some good.”
Routinely throughout our great nation homeless families are looked through and beyond. They become invisible to the general public. I like to think it is not out of judgment, but, out of a lack of understanding on how the passerby can truly effect a positive change for the one in need.
Every month in this newsletter I try and say thank you. Why, because I have seen you stop, look our families square in the eye, extended your hand of kindness and once again give them a sense of hope and belonging. Knowing they are part of a community that cares about them is often what drives them forward to achieve their goals and achieve sustainability.
So THANK YOU for all you have done and will do and for all the lives you have changed. You, my friend, are a true HERO and life changer.
Happy New Year!!
Sincerely, Nancy Marion, Executive Director
