Your Donations Make a Difference

Many of our residents arrive with little or no personal belongings. With the generous support of our local community, program participants can begin to rebuild their lives and homes upon move-in. Throughout their stay, families can obtain essential items from the Donation Center at no cost.

All items that participants acquire are theirs to take when they leave the program.

Mon – Thurs: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 9:30am – 4:00pm
Sat and Sun: CLOSED

We are more than happy to take the following gently used items:

  • Men’s, women’s and children’s clothing
  • Pots and pans
  • Dishes
  • Silverware
  • House Decoration Items (frames, artwork, vases, etc)

We can also take furniture but please call ahead to confirm our need and storage capacity for these items.

  • Dining tables with chairs
  • Dressers
  • Couches (No pull out beds/Recliners)
  • Coffee Tables
  • Small to Medium entertainment centers

We are also in need of the following NEW items

  • Men’s, women’s and children’s shoes
  • Sheets
  • Towels
  • Toiletries both male & female, including conditioner, deodorant & lotion
  • Individually wrapped sponges
  • Laundry Detergent & Dryer Sheets
  • Boxed cereal & Non-expired canned goods
  • Cleaning Supplies

Due to safety/sanitary reasons we are NOT able to take the following items:

  • Electrical Items (Including TV’s and all appliances)
  • Used Mattresses
  • Broken Furniture
  • Construction Material (Toilets, sinks etc)
  • Repackaged, homemade, or expired food.

House of Refuge appreciates in-kind donations and uses them whenever possible, including fundraising efforts. If items are unusable House of Refuge partners with a local company who purchases these items. Funding from this partnership supports House of Refuge programs and services for residents.

Having a community or neighborhood yard sale or need items picked up? We partner with Sunshine Acres to pick up any donations on our behalf. These items are converted into funding for our program and services for our residents. All items for pick up must be in working and good condition. If you would like donations picked up, please fill out the form below and Sunshine Acres will contact you to schedule a pickup.

*Pick ups are available for the East Valley (excluding Maricopa and San Tan Valley).
