Position Title: Development Coordinator
Status: Hourly, Full-time
Pay Range: $19-21 per hour
Supervised by: Chief Development Officer
Supervises: N/A
Position Summary: Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Coordinator will assist with donor activities such as gift acknowledgement letters and database stewardship. This position supports all systems and processes tied to donations, both in-kind and monetary. Position will also provide administrative support to the President and Chief Executive Officer. Ability to organize hard and electronic files, conduct research, manage development software, and support special projects is essential. Coordinator will be required to keep accurate minutes for meetings, create and/or maintain spreadsheets, presentations, documents, databases, and reports. This position will be expected to correspond with staff, vendors, donors, and volunteers who engage with House of Refuge.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist President and CEO, as assigned, with the maintenance and modifications of policies, procedures, guidelines, administrative tasks, and reporting. Record minutes from monthly Board meetings, assemble Board materials and books, order Board and donor gifts as needed.
- Donor support – Provide administrative support to the Chief Development Officer. Assist with acknowledgment tasks, entering donations, reporting, and sending letters.
- Donor database management – Maintain and keep DonorPerfect current. Add new donors and donations, update addresses, merge and complete files with notes. Work with the CEO and CDO to investigate and resolve discrepancies, confirm correct coding, and pull accurate reports.
- Fundraising support –Support the Development Department with fundraising software and assist with other department duties as needed, such as procurement. Support staff with event tracking systems including entering and tracking all donations, donors, ticket purchases, and sponsors. Work regularly to ensure successful implementation of software during events.
- Social media support- Provide support to team by gathering content for posts, organizing and scheduling of content with marketing services team.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Experience with DonorPerfect software preferred.
- Two years of experience in administrative assistant duties required.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office software.
- A high level of expertise in using technology, learning software, and data entry.

Director and Donation Center Supervisor
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Family Services Assistant Director, the Engagement Specialist creates and maintains a safe, structured, and supportive environment for families, co-workers, volunteers, donors, and the public at House of Refuge. This position splits time between Family Services program and Donation Center. This role promotes a positive program culture through accountability and resident engagement. Role may be referred to as Family Support Staff and maintains a consistent presence throughout the property, supports residents in navigating daily challenges and connects them to services such as case management, workforce development, donation center, and children’s programming. The position is essential to increasing participation and supporting successful program completion. This role also assists with daily donation center operations, and represents House of Refuge positively to donors, residents, and volunteers. Ensures compliance with all safety protocols, maintains accurate documentation, attends required meetings, and ensures leadership is well informed. Takes initiative and collaborates to ensure all aspects of service provision are in alignment with the House of Refuge mission and Philosophy of Care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in social services, experience navigating community resources, social service systems, or structured residential setting is preferred, whether gained through professional or personal experience.
- Superior customer relation skills. Retail experience preferred.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques and basic understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
- Must currently possess or be able to obtain a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance, food handler’s card and State Food Bank Manager Certification.
- Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s license.

Job Description
Position Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plays an active role in the coordination of activities, and self-enrichment classes for children at the Community Center. Support is obtaining supplies and customizes programming for the center. Collaborates with Family Services Specialist and Chief Programs Officer in researching, developing, planning, and implementing current and projected Community Center programming.
2. Practices good use of resources and evaluates program activities and supplies, while ensuring the best use of House of Refuge resources and budget. Takes an active role in the Community Center, organizes, and directs volunteers during Community Center hours, recruits and promotes children’s participation, and makes plans that support the smooth flow of daily activities.
3. Takes the role of point of contact with school liaisons and collaborates to support children’s services for families at House of Refuge. Supports and guides residents in enrolling or transferring children’s schools, and connecting them to appropriate community resources.
4. Works with families to identify protective factors and create goals that will support children’s overall well-being in the areas of academic success, increased learning and support systems, decreased barriers and achievement gaps, and increased coping mechanisms and overall wellness.
5. Assists and monitors residents, youth, volunteers, and instructors at the Community Center. Promotes safety and positive social interactions and effectively responds to situations that impact safety. Practices resident confidentiality and demonstrates professional boundaries.
6. Performs general clerical duties such as collecting data for monthly reports, creating and updating monthly calendars and flyers, answering phones, and responding to emails. Maintains a Community Center Bulletin Board and assists with the distribution of timely material to residents.
7. Performs general housekeeping matters such as cleaning, mopping, sweeping the porch and sidewalk of the center. Ensures Community Center and surrounding area are clean and free of hazards. Communicates concerns in a timely manner.
8. Plans and prepares simple/basic meals and snacks for breakfast, snack, or lunch. Follows all health and safety standards for food preparation and cleanup.
9. Demonstrates enthusiasm and creates and maintains an atmosphere of interest in all phases of work. Serves as a positive role model to all youth he/she encounters. Promotes open communication and contributes to an environment of trust and mutual respect. Provides services in a caring manner, provides clear instructions, and addresses concerns to ensure accountability and continued program partnership.
10. Consistently demonstrates knowledge of all House of Refuge program policies and procedures. Is dependable and adapts to changes in the work environment. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work activities and tasks by using time efficiently to complete tasks and action plans.
11. All other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- A 2-year undergraduate degree in a related field is required; or be working towards a 4-year degree or higher in any child-related fields (Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology, Elementary Education, etc.) or any combination of advanced education plus experience working with children and youth in a childcare, summer, or afterschool program.
- Experience in classroom management.
- Must have a current Food Handler’s Card or the ability to get one.
- Fingerprint Card or ability to get one.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, families in transition, or residential settings, is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with volunteers, preferred.

Position Summary
Responsible for intake, stocking, organizing, and greeting donors at the Donation Center with routine daily tasks and duties to maintain a storefront appearance in the Donation Center. Consistently show House of Refuge, Inc. in a positive manner to all donors, residents, and volunteers through excellent customer service skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in receiving, sorting, organizing of food and donations for day-to-day activities of the Donation Center. Much of this work is done outside year-round. Must be able to work in varied weather conditions from cold to extreme heat. This is a physical position that requires lifting and standing on your feet for a large part of the day. Must be able to lift 25lbs. repeatedly and 50+lbs. on occasion to assist donors in transporting donations into the Donation Center.
- Completes daily tasks. Works side by side with volunteers to show the appropriate way to work the Donation Center.
- Assisting residents with donation needs. Responsible for the record keeping of resident’s receipts of donations at the Donation Center.
- Consistently demonstrates and provides a positive, professional working environment for residents, co-workers, volunteers, and the public that come in contact with House of Refuge.
- Consistently maintains Donation Center in a “storefront” atmosphere. Displaying items for clients in a clean, dignified, store-like setting. Free of disorder and damage.
- Maintains updated clients lists for larger donated items, such as beds, furniture, tables/chairs, etc.
- Maintains updated needs list and inventory for donors and Development team.
- Responsible for obtaining donor receipts from donors.
- All other tasks that may be assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School education or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Retail experience preferred.

Position Title: Housekeeper – Part Time

Position Summary
As a member of the Maintenance Department, the Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of all House of Refuge grounds and property. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks, preparing residential units for occupancy, and assisting with major maintenance projects as assigned to support the House of Refuge mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly cleans and refurbishes all House of Refuge properties and units to ensure they meet organizational standards.
- Maintains adequate stock supply in the Annex and Administrative utility closets. Monitors and fills out cleaning inventory form(s).
- Notifies Maintenance personnel of needed repairs on units prior to Rent Ready inspections.
- Demonstrates and exhibits thorough and consistent work performance, knowledge of safety measures and standards as appropriate to duties assigned.
- Consistently demonstrates knowledge of all House of Refuge programs, policies, and procedures. Working knowledge of local and federal laws pertaining to Fair Housing, Arizona Landlord and Tenant Act, American Disability Act regulations, in addition to providing residential confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Works professionally with House of Refuge employees, volunteer members, donor(s), outside contractors, and residents. Communicates with the Maintenance Supervisor when additional assistance is required for assigned duties.
- Maintains appropriate collaborative relationships with local agencies and donor(s) to ensure positive branding of House of Refuge.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Must successfully obtain and maintain a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Previous professional cleaning or housekeeping experience is preferred.

Position Title: Youth Engagement Coordinator
Status: Exempt, full-time (40 hours per week).

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Children Services Manager, the Youth Engagement Coordinator plans, organizes, and implements age-appropriate activities and events that promote healthy living and positive social interactions. This role is responsible for engaging, retaining, and increasing teen participation in program services and activities. Serves as a key point of contact for families in coordination with school liaisons, works directly with teens and families residing at House of Refuge, and provides administrative support as needed for aspects related to youth services. Ensures compliance with all safety protocols, maintains accurate documentation of services, attends required meetings, and ensures leadership is well informed. Takes initiative and collaborates to ensure all aspects of service provision are in alignment with the House of Refuge mission and Philosophy of Care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development & Implementation
1. Utilizing the eight dimensions of wellness framework, plans, coordinates, and supervises Teen Center program activities and special events. Directs volunteers and facilitates curriculum-based lessons with an emphasis on health education, self-enrichment, and positive social interaction. Actively engages and recruits teens to increase participation in all program services, in order to improve consistent attendance, retention, and engagement outcomes.
2. As part of partnerships and youth development opportunities, maintains collaborative relationships with community partners and secures guest speakers and volunteers for workshops and enrichment activities. Researches and connects teens to job leads, career exploration, educational opportunities, skill-building, and other community resources that support the physical and mental health needs of teens.
3. Practices responsible stewardship of resources by identifying needs and ensuring the effective use of resources and program budget. Submits requests in advance, completes approved purchases and expenditure documents. Collaborates with other departments and with the Donation Center to secure donations and supplies needed for the Teen Center’s programming.
4. Conducts general housekeeping matters such as basic upkeep of the Teen Center, follows a daily cleaning schedule and coordinates weekly and quarterly cleaning, and space beautification projects. Prepares snacks and simple meals following all health and safety standards for food preparation and cleanup.
Coordination of Client Services
5. Serves as the primary point of contact with school liaisons and supports families with school enrollment and transfers. Maintains updated school information for all teens and obtains appropriate releases of information, as needed, to coordinate services for the families.
6. Maintains resident confidentiality and demonstrates professional boundaries at all times. Builds rapport with teens and families to encourage engagement in services, activities, and educational opportunities. Collaborates with case management, attends staffing meetings, documents services, and supports families with the needs of the teens throughout their stay, and during their transition out of the program.
7. Demonstrates enthusiasm, fosters and maintains an atmosphere of interest in all phases of work. Serves as a positive role model to program teens and children. Provides services in a caring manner, provides clear instructions, and addresses concerns to ensure accountability and continued program partnership.
Administrative Responsibilities and Team Culture
8. Performs administrative duties such as data collection and reporting, tracking daily Teen Center attendance, creating flyers and monthly calendars, managing email correspondence, answering phones, and preparing and distributing program materials in a timely manner.
9. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of services, activities, and participation in Teen Center activities. Completes timely and accurate documentation of services and communication with residents, as needed, to ensure compliance and accurate reflection of service provision.
10. Consistently demonstrates knowledge of House of Refuge policies and procedures and ensures compliance in all areas of work. Maintains organization of the Teen Center, ensuring the space is clean, structured, and tour-ready at all times. Ensures the area is clean and free of hazards, communicates maintenance or safety concerns promptly, and submits work orders as needed.
11. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work activities to meet program goals and deadlines, demonstrating reliability and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Collaborates closely with the Children Services Manager and serves as backup support for Community Center operations as needed.
12. Actively contributes to the implementation of the organization’s core values and program philosophies. Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiasm and professionalism, fosters open communication, and contributes to a culture of mutual respect, accountability, performance, teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
13. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
